M.Niesyto) Wystawa jest próbą zapisu procesu biologicznego i artystycznego zarazem. Obszarem zainteresowan twórców wystawy jest biologia mchów, w tym morfoligia, anatomia oraz procesy fizjologiczne. Mchy przeniesione ze środowiska naturalnego do galerii będącej równoczesnie laboratorium stają się obiektem działań naukowych o wymiarze estetycznym. Autorzy wystawy: dwoje artystów grafików, dwoje biologów i artysta projektant próbują w swoim dziele odnieść się do czterech spośród dziesięciu zagadnień będących przedmiotem teoretycznych wystąpień w czasie Kongresu: Zmiany w Sztuce Współczesnej, Estetyka i Natura, Sztuka i Nauka, Technologia i Biotechnologia w Estetyce i Sztuce. They occur in the habitats characterized by frequent changes of temperature, light intensity, access to water, or carbon dioxide concentration. Species of the mosses used in the exhibition differ from each other;they have various anatomical leaf build and habitat requirements. Sphagnum megallanicum and Mnium undulatum occur in the habitats characterized by raised humidity while Polytrichum piliferum and Polytrichum commune are the mosses growing on the open terrains, on the sandy soils. DEHYDRATION – (hypohydration) of the mosses resulting from the water loss causes inhibition of metabolic processes but it does not usually entails any damages of their ultra-structure, the cells contract evenly during drying up. REHYDRATION – when the access to water is greater (e.g. caused by rainfall) the mosses regain water relatively fast, metabolic processes are reactivated, and ability to sustain growth and development is restored.
